By the end of second grade these science learning targets will be met:
- I can observe and classify different properties of materials.
- I can analyze data about the properties of different materials.
- I can make observations about how small pieces can be assembled into a new object.
- I can describe how some changes due to heating and cooling can be revised and some cannot.
- I can investigate where plants need sunlight and water to grow.
- I can explain how animals help disperse seeds and pollinate plants.
- I can compare and contrast plants and animals that live in different habitats.
- I can use information from many sources to describe how earth's events can happen quickly or slowly.
- I can create a model that represents land and bodies of water.
- I can describe where solid and liquid water can be found on Earth.
- I can make observations, ask questions and gather information about problem.
- I can develop and drawing or model that solves a problem.
- I can look at information from two objects designed to fix the same problem and define their strengths and weaknesses.
